Recently the FAA approved the following Open-Aire Portable Oxygen Concentrators for use on all commercial flights:

How do I receive the equipment?
Open-Aire will ship it to you according to what you specified in the Rental Order Form.
How do I return the equipment?
Repackage using original packing materials and apply label provided by Open-Aire. Note: Use the return shipping label to properly insure the unit and avoid liability for shipping damage.
Can I purchase the equipment?
Absolutely. In fact if you decide to purchase the equipment, we will apply your rental payments toward the purchase (rental price only).
Will my insurance pay for this equipment?
Most insurance, including Medicare, will not pay for short-term rentals. However, if you are interested in permanently upgrading your current home equipment, we do accept Medicare, most private insurance and have financing options available.
How much does it cost?
A one week rental is $295. For the price of longer rentals please visit our equipment page or call us at 1.888.602.7008.
How do I make a payment?
Credit card is currently our only payment option.
What should I take to an airport?
At a minimum, you should take your current oxygen prescription. Please check with your airline for their requirements, as policies may vary from airline to airline.
Do I need a prescription?
Open-Aire is required to have a doctor’s prescription on file to supply you with oxygen equipment. You may fax your prescription to (866) 875-4246.
How many batteries should I bring on my trip?
You are required to travel with a sufficient supply of batteries to last the duration of your flight, ground time and any unexpected delays. Batteries should be installed in the equipment or placed in carry-on baggage and packed to protect them.
How long do the batteries last?
This depends on your liter flow. At 2 liters per minute, each battery will last about four hours.
Does the unit work only on batteries?
No, it will also operate in a car with the D/C adaptor and in the home with the A/C adaptor.
